London store numbers set to double
Health and beauty retailer Superdrug is planning to open 35 stores this year under expansion proposals worth£14.6 million.

The move will create 350 jobs and double the retailer's store presence in central London.

Superdrug managing director Euan Sutherland said: 'As we start the New Year, we're confident in our formula for growth and that's why we'll be opening a new or re-branded store for Superdrug customers every single week this year.'

Superdrug is the UK's largest health and beauty chain after Boots, with 700 shops. Locations for new stores include Enfield and Harlesden in London and Alloa, Ayr and Wick in Scotland.
