The retailer announced a £50,000 employee bonus following a ‘landmark financial year’

Rough Trade told Retail Week that both the Oasis tour and “music tourism in general” has had a “positive impact” across the summer.

From July 1 to August 10, sales across Rough Trade UK has risen 23.6% while footfall has risen 32% and 14% on a like-for-like basis. LP sales also rose 32% in this period.

The retailer also announced a £50,000 employee bonus fund following a “landmark financial year” and will be distributed among eligible UK employees in August.

It will also contribute 20% of net profits into this year’s bonus fund, which will be shared across 110 employees with an average distribution of £454.55.

Rough Trade director of people and operations David Anderson said: “Our team is the heart of everything we do.

“This bonus is more than a financial gesture – it’s an acknowledgment of the creativity, commitment and camaraderie that fuel our continued evolution as an independent music retailer.”

Rough Trade also recently expanded its partnership with John Lewis to feature a curated vinyl range in 23 stores, while Selfridges housed a pop-up for the record shop for a month ending August 10.
