HMV is opening its first Amsterdam shop next year, following the successful opening of a store in The Hague last month.

The 4,500 sq ft store will open on Kalverstraat, Amsterdam, next year and become the second HMV shop in The Netherlands, offering a range of products including music, film, TV, literature, and collectibles.

It will offer a wider selection of vinyl LPs and CDs than The Hague shop, with a dedicated area to all K-pop merchandise. A larger selection of films and collector’s box sets on 4K and Blu-Ray will also be present, with double the range of t-shirts, collectibles and books.

HMV and Fopp managing director Phil Halliday said: “We’re constantly striving to create new community hubs for fans to come together and share their love of music and pop culture.

“The shop will cater to a range of interests, stocking all genres of music from K-pop to heavy metal, the best film and TV shows around, as well as a great selection of fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels. We’re confident that we’ll bring something new to Kalverstraat and we can’t wait to open the doors next year.”
