Iceland has dropped former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona as the face of its advertising campaign following the publication of photographs allegedly showing her taking class A drugs.

The frozen foods chain, which had stood by the star during previous personal difficulties, said it was now “impossible” for it to continue their current relationship after the News Of The World published pictures and video footage of the 28-year-old mother allegedly snorting cocaine in her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Katona has repeatedly been in the papers due to her ongoing battle with drink and drugs, as well as her tumultuous romantic life.

A statement from Iceland read: “We have always stood by her, as an example of a normal person and mum who has experienced some of the modern-day culture of fame, and how difficult it can be to deal with.

“However, following the most recent allegations, we feel it is impossible for Kerry to continue to work with us as one of the faces of Iceland advertising.”

The I’m A Celebrity star, who won the Best Celebrity Mother award in 2004 and 2005, has fronted the supermarket’s advertising campaigns for the last four years.
