Sainbury's plans rejig of health and beauty offer

Sainsbury's plans an aggressive roll-out of its new-look health and beauty departments following the end of its partnership with Boots.

The grocer has tested five new-style health and beauty departments since last summer and has since extended the approach to another five. Now Sainsbury's will up the ante and the department could feature in up to 150 stores.

Sainsbury's deputy managing director Sara Weller said: 'The trial clearly showed us that we are positioned to offer a strong health and beauty offer.'

The supermarket group also aims to double its number of pharmacies to 220 following the OFT's call for deregulation last month.
