Rival firms size up PowerHouse property assets

Rivals of stricken electricals retailer PowerHouse have confirmed they are running the rule over properties being sold off by administrative receivers.

PowerHouse, the UK's third biggest electricals retailer, shortcircuited last week.

Deloitte & Touche, the administrative receiver, said it had already received interest in PowerHouse as a going concern and in elements of the group's property portfolio.

A Dixons spokesman said it was 'logical' to look seriously at PowerHouse's assets. Comet said it is always looking for sites.

GUS would not comment on speculation that it is interested in particular properties.
