Reiss has signed a multimillion-pound franchising deal to open stores in Singapore and Malaysia.

The tie-up marks the next step in Reiss’s international plans – it hopes to have 250 stores worldwide by 2010.

The franchises will be run by the Wai Tai group in Singapore and the DNP group in Malaysia. The deal was agreed through Field Fisher Waterhouse.

Reiss will now step up plans to open wholly owned stores in the US and Europe while it searches for more global franchise partners.

Field Fisher Waterhouse franchising lawyer Graeme Payne said: “The latest franchising deal will no doubt prove lucrative for Reiss, with the demand for quality Western brands in both Singapore and Malaysia growing rapidly.”
