Property News - Ukraine developer drafts in Benoy for mixed-use scheme

Architect Benoy has been appointed by developer HCM Ukraine to provide a design concept for the 37,325 sq m Olympic Plaza project in Kiev, Ukraine.

The proposed scheme plans to incorporate international standard retail units, a food court, cafes, bars, an entertainment centre and a multiplex cinema on a site next to the Ukraine Olympic Stadium.

Benoy director Nick Lamb said that the development would be the first major western-style retail and leisure mall in the Ukraine.

'International retailers are looking very hard at the expansion opportunities available in the former Soviet Union. As a result, and as a consequence of consumer demand, there is a real opportunity to enhance the quality of shopping and mixed-use developments in the region,'

Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker is the development consultant and leasing agent.
