Property News - Slough Estates lets its final unit at Deva

Slough Estates has let the final unit of its Deva retail centre at Chester in Cheshire. The 930 sq m unit has been let to Furnitureland, which joins Currys, Reid Furniture, Magnet and Furniture Village.

The development totals 7,500 sq m, anchored by a 5,650 sq m Currys, which is its flagship store for the area.

Ian Coull, former property director at Sainsbury's, who has just taken over as chief executive at Slough Estates said: 'The letting to Furnitureland not only completes the leasing of the Deva Retail Centre, but it also marks the successful redevelopment of our original industrial estate at Sealand Road, Chester. With rents achieved in the order of£270 per sq m, the new development generates a considerable uplift in rental income and a significant enhancement in asset value terms.'

Mentor and King Sturge were joint letting agents.
