Property News - New units mark south entrance for Carnaby St

Shaftesbury, landlord of London's Carnaby Street shopping district, is creating two prominent retail units to mark the southern entrance to Carnaby Street from Beak Street in Soho.

One unit, 1/2 Carnaby Street, is situated on the corner of Carnaby Street and Beak Street and totals 155 sq m. Next door, 3/4 Carnaby Street, totals 315 sq m. Both can trade over basement and ground floors.

These adjoining units could also be knocked through to create a single unit of 470 sq m with the potential of expanding to the first floor and creating 120 sq m of extra retail space. Completion is due in August.

The units are located next to O'Neill and opposite the Kingly Court retail scheme, which is scheduled to open in late spring. Anchor tenants already trading include Puma, Ben Sherman, Henri-Lloyd and Mambo and the new Hakkasan Chowbar is due to open later this year.
