Frasers Group, which is presently headquartered at Shirebrook, Derbyshire, is planning to move its global headquarters, Business Live has reported.

The group, which owns brands like Flannels, Sports Direct and Sofa.com, has submitted a planning application for a global headquarters campus at Ansty in Rugby, Warwickshire.

The new HQ is expected to generate 7,500 jobs and create £300m in gross value added for the region if the application is approved.

The campus is expected to include logistics space, offices, research and development, retail, a hotel and leisure facilities along with a gym, bookable courts and pitches open to the public.

When asked how the move would affect jobs in Shirebrook, a spokesperson told Business Live: “The proposals for a global headquarters campus will support the growth of the business. No decisions have been made.”

A Frasers spokesperson said: “We have worked closely with local partners to develop proposals for a global headquarters campus at Ansty. This would deliver a well-located, world-class platform to further bolster our elevation strategy, sector-leading ecosystem and growth ambitions. A planning application has now been submitted and we will continue to work with our partners through the planning process.”
