One of the UK's largest operators of photo studios, which operated the majority of its branches within Mothercare stores, has collapsed.
Olan Mills Photography, which specialised in baby and family portraits, had 25 of its 34 branches within out of town Mothercare stores. An administrator is due to be appointed imminently. Its concessions within the Mothercare stores closed on Boxing Day.
A spokesperson for Mothercare stressed that that its business was unaffected. "While this will have no impact on Mothercare's overall business, this is clearly a difficult time for Olan Mills staff, who we have worked closely with over the years.
"Mothercare is working to ensure that our customers get delivery of photographs they have purchased after a sitting with Olan Mills at our stores. It is important to note that Olan Mills is a separate business to Mothercare."
