Burnham to cut business rates for pubs and live music venues by 20%

The discount for pubs, clubs and live music venues in England will start next April and will be funded by reviewing tax reliefs for businesses said not to contribute to local communities, “such as vape shops”

Many pubs took part in a strong bout of campaigning against the government of Burnham’s predecessor, Keir Starmer, with hundreds banning Labour MPs in protest against taxation of the sector.
