New data shows that retail transactions on Oxford Street have jumped 19% in the first week since a section of the famous shopping street was pedestrianised.
The data from global financial technology platform Adyen analysed in-store transactions from 40 businesses on Oxford Street and found that shopping activity grew 19% in the week of October 27 to November 1, compared to both the previous week and the equivalent in 2025, after a one-mile strip of the street was pedestrianised on October 26.
