Karen Millen embarks upon US expansion bid with openings in Boston and Los Angeles

Women's fashion retailer Karen Millen has opened its first two stores in the US in the latest stage of its international expansion.

The retailer already has 20 outlets outside the UK, in Europe and the Middle East, but has always coveted a foothold in the US.

The shops have just opened in Copley Place, Boston, and the Beverly Center, Los Angeles.

The stores are expected to act as launchpads for the company's growth in the US.

Karen Millen also owns women's fashion chain Press & Bastyan, and there are Karen Millen Shoe Lounges in London and Glasgow. The business generates sales in excess of£60 million a year.

There are 55 Karen Millen stores in the UK and shops recently opened in Norwich and Windsor.

CWM recently signed stores for Karen Millen in Colchester, Leicester and Cheltenham.
