International News - Burberry selects Milan as venue for debut in Italy

Upscale fashion retailer Burberry will open its first store in Italy next year.

The 750 sq m shop is scheduled for Milan's Via Verri. The launch will take place just a year after the fashion retailer's flagship opened in Barcelona in Spain last month.

Chief executive Rose Marie Bravo said that the Milan store will be located in the 'most distinguished shopping area' to take advantage of style-obsessed consumers and the 'compelling tourist market'.

Burberry will also launch a flagship store in New York this month and a second London flagship in Knightsbridge next month.
