Halfords is pushing cycle sales with an emotive Christmas TV ad in a move away from its traditionally price and value focused campaigns.

The ad shows a girl screaming with excitement throughout the year after she unwraps a bike for Christmas. The strapline is ‘Christmas gifts they’ll use again and again’.

Chief executive David Wild said: “It is very clear we need to do more in our cycling division.”
