Staff at a former Woolworths store in the Western Isles in Scotland have reopened the shop under the name WeeW.

The Stornoway shop stocks some of Woolworths’ old favourites and the store said more than 200 people applied to work in WeeW.

Store manager Terry Ovenstone said: “We’re amazed by the interest shown by islanders in this new venture. The support has been incredible. Since the refit began there has been a constant buzz on the street outside the store and there’s certainly a buzz inside the store.”
