Moonpig chief executive Nickyl Raithatha is to leave the greetings card specialist after seven years in post.

Moonpig, which has also posted full-year results, said a search has begun for a successor. Raithatha will run the business until a replacement is found and ensure a smooth succession.

Moonpig reported adjusted EBITDA of £96.8m, up 1.3%, in the year to April 30, when revenue rose 2.6% to £350.1m.

Raithatha said: “I am proud to leave the group in a strong position as the clear leading platform in cards and gifts across both the UK and the Netherlands, with a loyal and growing customer base, driven by our innovations in technology, data and AI.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside such a talented group of people. Together, we have grown the business, listed on the London Stock Exchange, and expanded into new markets. As today’s full-year results show, the business is in excellent shape, with strong momentum, an experienced senior leadership team, and significant growth potential.”

Moonpig chair Kate Swann said: “Under [Nickyl’s] leadership, the group has reinforced its position as the category-defining online platform for greeting cards and gifting…Nickyl has built a seasoned leadership team that will drive strong execution continuity during the transition.”

Moonpig reported that since the start of the new financial year, “trading across the group has been in line with our expectations, including strong Father’s Day trading”.
