Numbers are down on last year?s traffic though
Shopper numbers over the weekend lifted by 6.2 per cent, week-on-week according to research house Footfall.

However compared to December 20 and 21 2003, footfall was down 4.1 per cent.

Sunday was the better trading day of the weekend with a week-on-week rise of 11.7 per cent, compared to Saturday's rise of only 2. 8 per cent.

Footfall predicts that the coming four days of trading will see an increase of shopper numbers of 10 per cent compared to last week's volumes.
