Zalando and Marks & Spencer have struck a fulfilment partnership

Zalando’s Zeos business-to-business division will fulfil all of Marks & Spencer’s online orders in continental Europe, comprising 21 markets, from early next year.

The partnership builds upon the existing relationship between the pair. Since 2022 Zalando has fulfilled M&S orders from three European marketplaces – its own, Amazon and Zalando-owned About You. In the last quarter, M&S sales through Zalando climbed 131% year on year.

M&S said that the expanded arrangement would allow it to “take advantage of Zeos’ inventory efficiency, creating one single stock pool as well as an advanced order management system”.

It should also result in improvements to customer experience through faster delivery and returns.

M&S international managing director Mark Lemming said: Having reset the international business to reshape M&S for global growth, we’re focusing on bigger, better partnerships, which enable us to bring the best of M&S to the world.

“Our partnership with Zalando supported us as we begun to scale our online growth over the last three years and now we’re taking the next step, leveraging Zeos’ operational infrastructure to scale our online business in Europe further. This is a key strategic market where our trusted brand and stylish offer resonates with customers.”

This week, Zalando reported third-quarter gross merchandise volume growth of 21.6% to €4.2bn and revenue growth of 26.5% to €3bn, boosted by the inclusion of About You which it acquired earlier this year. Zalando’s adjusted EBIT rose to €96m from €93m year on year.
