Marks & Spencer is launching its womenswear ranges in the US, 25 years after it withdrew from the market.

The retailer has signed a deal to sell more than 60 products from its fashion brands through US department store chain Nordstrom.
These will be sold on Nordstrom’s website and in 30 stores across America, including in New York and Los Angeles, from April 3, The Telegraph reported.
M&S entered the North American markets with the purchase of the Brooks Brothers clothing chain for $750m in 1988. It struggled to make progress and eventually sold the chain for $225m in 2001.
M&S launched food products in America by partnering with Target, and it now sells more than 30,000 bags of Percy Pigs per week through its stores.
M&S International managing director Mark Lemming said: “Our purpose is to bring the best of M&S to customers around the world.
“With strong brand momentum as the UK’s most trusted retailer and now leading in style, quality and value perceptions in our womenswear range, now is the time to build our brand awareness in the American fashion market and establish ourselves as a globally trusted brand.”
