Frasers Group is considering placing a rescue bid for online marketplace SilkFred, which collapsed into administration in October.
The Flannels owner is understood to have expressed interest in bidding for the business, Drapers reported.
SilkFred, which was founded in 2011, sold more than 500 independent womenswear brands and designers on its platform.
It appointed administrators at Quantuma at the end of October, citing financial pressures.
It is thought that SilkFred has also garnered interest from one off-price retailer and a London-based high street womenswear brand.
If Frasers is successful, it would add to the group’s rapidly expanding portfolio of brands, which includes Game, I Saw It First and Sofa.com.
The group acquired online technology retailer Ebuyer, which sells CPUs, motherboards, laptops, televisions and monitors, out of administration in August.
Frasers Group has been contacted for comment.
