Asos is launching two graduate collections on Friday through its new MA}ke initiative.

The online fashion giant has partnered with London College of Fashion (LCF) to launch the programme to support young design talent.

Two designers were selected from LCF’s latest crop of MA graduates to join the programme.  Menswear designer Domingo Rodriguez and womenswear designer Youngli Lee will join Asos in April and will be mentored by business leaders across the etailer. The designers’ capsule collection goes live on Asos.com on Friday.

Asos buying director Caren Downie said:  “As an established supporter of up and coming creative talent we feel that it is important to mentor and share our expertise with young designers.  Through MA}ke, we want to give our customers access to beautiful, considered pieces whilst giving young designers a vital leg up in the industry.”

Roy Peach, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, London College of Fashion, said: “It is vital that retailers support emerging design talent.  ASOS.com’s MA}ke initiative will ensure fashion’s future stars gain a real insight into the business of a fast-paced online retailer, equipping them  with the essential skills they need to build a successful design future.”
