House of Fraser’s two distribution centres, which have been shuttered due to a dispute with XPO Logistics, will reportedly recommence operations today.
According to a letter sent by the department store retailer’s chief executive Alex Williamson and seen by Drapers, the retailer’s two Wellingborough and Milton Keynes warehouses will begin to take receipt of concession deliveries, collect from suppliers and process stock to the stores as of today.
Williamson wrote that all services relating to bought and own-brand supplies will also be recommenced “as soon as possible”.
House of Fraser’s warehouse reopening comes after a stalemate between warehouse operator XPO and Sports Direct founder Mike Ashley, who has acquired the department store out of administration for £90m.

XPO shut down the retailer’s warehouse operations earlier this month due to being owed £30.4m by the chain, which Ashley is under no legal obligation to pay as debts owed to XPO and all other suppliers were written off as a result of House of Fraser falling into administration.
The warehouse operator has put 600 roles into consultation as a result of the financial hit.
The disruption resulted in House of Fraser shutting down its ecommerce website and informing shoppers with outstanding orders and returns that they will not be fulfilled.
