The UK's biggest leisure and outdoor equipment store is to open in a 50,000 sq ft (4,650 sq m) freehold retail warehouse at Canley, Coventry, and operator CCC Outdoors is on the lookout for more sites across the UK.
CCC already operates three smaller stores, in Sheffield, Wakefield and Hathersage in the Peak District, and has a strong online and mail-order business. It has now taken over the former MFI store in Coventry, following the furniture retailer's decision to move to a smaller unit on the Gallagher Retail Park. CCC will trade as Go Outdoors.
Johnson Fellows advised on the deal and has been retained to find similar-sized properties in other UK regions. Partner Brian Thompson said: 'The location at Canley, with easy access to the A45 Birmingham to Coventry road, is ideal for a specialist retailer such as CCC, which will be a destination for the whole of the Midlands.'
