Founded by Julian Metcalfe and Sinclair Beecham as an individual shop in 1986, sandwich shop chain Pret a Manger is now on nearly every major British high street.
It is a brand that has become synonymous with quality produce, and a strong company culture that creates buzzy stores with friendly staff.
The company invests heavily in customer service and runs the Pret Academy for staff training and development with the tagline: “Training Pret’s future team members, managers and CEOs”.
In mid-2019, Pret acquired British food and drink retailer EAT and, in response to growing consumer demand for more vegetarian and vegan options on the high street, plans to convert as many of EAT’s shops as possible to “Veggie Prets”.
Pret has also earned a positive reputation among consumers through its caring side, giving unsold food to the homeless at the end of each day.
