Boyne footbridge opens the way for Scotch Hall

Irish developer Edward Holdings has reached an agreement with the local port authority at Drogheda in the Republic of Ireland to build a pedestrian bridge linking the south and north sides of the River Boyne.

The deal clears the way for construction to start on Scotch Hall - Edward Holdings' EUR150 million (£99 million) mixed-use scheme on the south side of the Boyne - which is scheduled for completion by April next year.

The bridge will link Scotch Hall with the existing commercial core of the town on the north bank of the Boyne.

The development, along with the new bridge and boardwalk, will help to regenerate the area, which is also of historical interest.
