Amazon has withdrawn its controversial ‘guide to paedophilia’ e-book after a social network campaign from outraged consumers.
Online campaigners prompted a boycott of the etailer and claimed victory yesterday as Amazon agreed to remove The Paedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lovers Code of Conduct from its Kindle section.
Despite earlier this week defending its decision to sell the e-book on the grounds of free speech, Amazon bowed down to pressure and the impending threat of a global boycott.
The controversial title launched two weeks ago. The book rose from 58,221 to 96 on Amazon’s Kindle store after hitting the headlines.
