Value retailer Costco has targeted 14 new UK stores over the next two years, as part of a major UK expansion.

The member-only, bulk-buy retailer is eyeing several locations with plans to open “as soon as possible”, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported the proposed new locations included Brighton, Cambridge, Chelmsford, south Glasgow, southeast London and Oxford.

It has been reported that Costco is working with property firm Chase Commercial to find and convert the new spaces for its rollout.

Costco is due to open a new warehouse on Glasgow’s Eastern Avenue, having acquired the site last month.

The new stores would increase its portfolio in the UK to 44 and follow the retailer’s UK division reporting a 44% pre-tax profits jump to £120.6m in the year to August 2022.

Sales were boosted by 18.2% to £4bn.
