Asos will launch same-day delivery in London tomorrow and will roll out the offer to other major UK cities in the coming months.

Asos Instant will cost £12.95 and will be available in all of London’s 122 postcodes. Parcels will be delivered between 6pm and 10pm on the day of ordering.

The etailer already offers next-day delivery, which costs £5.95 per item or £9.95 for a year’s subscription, and one-hour delivery slots with Asos Precise, which costs £5.95.

Delivery solutions and returns manager Matt Rogers said: “Asos has a history of innovation – in our use of technology, our trend-setting fashion, and in the best-in-class delivery and service propositions we offer our customers.

“We will continue to explore new options that add convenience and choice for Asos shoppers.”

The etailer is due to report its preliminary results next Tuesday. At its interims back in April, it reported rises in earnings and sales. Pre-tax profit climbed 14%, while group revenue surged 37%.

Asos increased sales growth guidance for the current financial year to 30-35%, although profit expectations remained unchanged.

Full-year pre-tax profit is expected to rise 22.5% and sales to jump 33.4%, according to broker consensus.
