Amazon has partnered with a 3D visualisation platform for selling partners to display immersive content on their product pages.

The platform, called Hexa, will create the 3D assets for brands based on product images and Amazon will animate them using AR and 360-degree viewing.

Amazon and Hexa are working alongside the Amazon Web Services spatial computing team and the Amazon.com imaging teams to launch the new technology.

All Amazon merchants will be able to upload AR, 360-degree viewing, virtual try on and 3D experiences to their product pages, with the aim to drive sales, engagement and conversion rates.

Selling partners will be able to upload their Amazon standard identification number into Hexa’s content management system, which will automatically convert images into a 3D model with AR compatibility.

The new initiative is designed to be usable by all, regardless of the seller’s experience with immersive tech.

Gavin Goodvach, Hexa VP of partnerships, said: “Working with Amazon has opened up a whole new distribution channel for our partners. Brands now have the ability to distribute 3D experiences and deliver immersive shopping to Amazon’s global network of customers using Hexa’s proprietary content delivery network.”
