Virgin Media O2 has opened a new flagship in Westfield, Stratford, to bring a “complete connected retail experience” to customers.

The new concept is the UK’s largest telco store spanning nearly 5,000 sq ft and represents a “key milestone” in its retail strategy.

The store differs from the operator’s 300 units in the UK, as this location will act as a technology hub for the local community and provide for customers who seek support, upskilling or the latest technology.

The shop has several discovery zones across an open-plan layout for shoppers to test out Virgin Media O2’s latest products, gaming and entertainment tech, and can speak with expert staff for any questions.

The discovery zones make up an expert support bar for customers to expand their tech knowledge, an ultimate gaming zone equipped with virtual reality and augmented reality experiences, a fitness and wellbeing area to discover wearable tech, and a section dedicated to priority from O2, the group’s customer reward programme.

The store is also a National Databank hub, allowing people experiencing data poverty to access a free O2 sim with 25GB of monthly data and calls and texts for 12 months.

Customers can also use the space to recycle their old or wanted devices such as old mobiles, earphones, wearable tech and cables.

“Over the past 12 months, we have invested millions of pounds to upgrade and improve over one hundred stores giving customers a brilliant experience when they shop with us.

“With further investment planned in 2025 and beyond, including new tools that will bolster the support colleagues can offer in person, we remain focused on strengthening our connections with communities and delivering even more value for our customers.”
