Poundland is revamping 150 stores

Poundland said the overhaul – dubbed Project Evo – was the first significant investment in most of the shops, including some Dealz stores, for more than five years and would bring improvements for customers and staff.

Poundland director of property services Alan Smallman said: “Project Evo represents a significant investment in a substantial number of stores to make them brilliant places to shop and work.

“Over the past five years, we’ve transformed our offer for customers, adding extensive ranges of clothing, homewares, chilled and frozen food.

“We’re now embarking on a programme that will show off those ranges in a modern and bright environment that’s easy to shop, navigate and checkout.”

The revamped shops will carry the most comprehensive range each location can take after what Poundland, owned by Pepco, has called “the single biggest change” it has ever made to its general merchandise offer”.

Stores will have fresh signage, flooring and lighting, while back office areas will be overhauled to improve conditions for colleagues.

The first refurbishments will be completed this weekend and 42 stores will be renovated by Easter.
