For those contemplating entering this year’s Retail Interiors Awards, due to take place at the Hilton Park Lane on September 29, time is fast running out.

The closing date for entries is this Friday and as well as the by now almost entirely familiar categories, a new award is up for grabs in the shape of Point of Purchase Campaign of the Year.

Last year, the top honour, Best UK Retailer, went to John Lewis for its food hall on Oxford Street. The department store retailer’s move into grocery was clearly a success for no better reason than that it is currently creating a similar department in the basement of its Bluewater branch, due to open in the late summer. Other winners included Oxfam, Fortnum & Mason, the Nike ID Studio and Marks and Spencer in Bournemouth. It is also worth noting, if you are an overseas retailer or design company, that this was the most hotly contested category with close to 40 entries being made for a single award.

Judging takes place in early July with a shortlist due to appear by the middle of the month.
