Warehouse managing director Meg Lustman is to step down from the fashion retailer despite strong sales over Christmas.
Lustman, who joined the company 10 years ago and took up her current position in 2009, is to step down from the role next month, although she may continue to hold her position on the retailerâs board further into 2013.
Lustman is not expected to be replaced at the retailer, which has more than 450 stores and concessions in over 21 countries, in the near future.
The Aurora Fashions-owned retailer recorded strong Christmas sales, with a 7% increase in like-for-likes over the five weeks to December 29, The Independent reported.
Aurora executive chairman Derek Lovelock said: âUnder Megâs leadership, Warehouse has flourished and we can report strong trading over the Christmas period.
âWarehouse has a strong management team so we donât anticipate making any appointments in the near future.â
Warehouseâs strong Christmas performance, as well as strong trading from high street bellwethers John Lewis and Next, suggests the festive season was robust for many retailers.
