French home furnishings retailer Roche-Bobois is to open its second store outside London at The Heart in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey.

The retailer has signed for a 4,600 sq ft (427 sq m) store in the centre, which comprises 227,000 sq ft (21,090 sq m) of other retail space.

The Roche-Bobois store will be located on New Zealand Avenue close to the entrance to The Heart’s residential area.

It will be Roche-Bobois's fifth store in the UK. The retailer launched in the UK in November 2005 at Riverside West at Wandsworth in southwest London.

Roche-Bobois UK managing director Martin Gleize said: “We are very excited to bring Roche-Bobois to Surrey. We are confident that The Heart is a particularly appropriate location, because it is a dynamic point of convergence for the residents of Surrey.”

Founded in the 1960s after a chance meeting between two Parisian families, Roche-Bobois now has more than 400 stores in nearly 30 countries, with a new store opening every month.

The Heart owner O & H Properties was represented by joint letting agents CWM and CBRE.
