Boots has appointed Preyash Thakrar as strategy and transformation director as it “embarks on a significant period of change”.

Preyash Thakrar joins Boots as strategy and transformation director

Thakrar was previously chief strategy and customer officer at Asda where he headed the supermarket giant’s strategy and partnerships team.

He left the business shortly after it was taken over by the Issa brothers in 2021. 

Thakrar joins Boots from KPMG UK, where he was a partner and headed consumer and retail.

He will join the health and beauty retailer on March 1, 2024, to lead its strategy, transformation, property and business tech transformation teams. 

In a LinkedIn post, Thakrar said: “I am absolutely delighted to confirm I will be returning to industry and joining Boots UK as strategy and transformation director. I’m looking forward to working alongside Sebastian James, CEO, and the rest of the team. 
 
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead our strategy, transformation, property and business tech transformation teams as we embark on a significant period of change for the Boots business and the industry as a whole. Fun times ahead!”
