Asos has hired former Nike executive Tim Phipps as its new sportswear and outdoor director.
Phipps will be in charge of the strategy and vision for the sports and outdoor wear team at Asos, as part of the commercial leadership team.
The role is intended to help drive growth across the business by evolving the offer in the category, including Asos’ own-brand labels and third-party sports and outdoor brands.
He joins the business from Nike, where he was most recently senior business director EMEA for its NBHD and SNKRS brands – where he led on marketplace, brand and merchandising.
Phipps spent nine years at Nike, including leading Nike sportswear sales for EMEA.
He previously held roles at Fred Perry and Reebok.
