Aldi is planning to restructure some head office teams which could result in over 350 jobs lost.
The roles at risk span buying department positions including non-food, finance and some back-office functions.
The supermarket is also considering growing the number of buying roles at its UK headquarters in Atherstone, Birmingham, according to Grocery Gazette.
The news arrives just days after Aldi upped staff pay for the second time in a month, with store colleagues receiving at least £12.75 an hour from next month.
The proposed restructuring also comes at a time when fellow grocers Sainsbury’s and Morrisons announced job cuts of 3,000 and 200 roles respectively.
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “To support our continued growth and to offer the best experience to our customers, we are consulting over proposals to restructure some head office teams.
“No customer facing roles are affected, and no final decisions will be made until the consultation process is complete.
“We are committed to supporting our colleagues throughout this process. Wherever possible, we will seek to redeploy affected colleagues within the business.”
