The fund has won consent to demolish most of the existing buildings on the site, with the exception of a listed 1950s building at 219 Oxford Street, and to redevelop it with a new 47,000 sq ft (4,369 sq m) building, designed by John McAslan & partners which recently completed the Peter Jones refurbishment on Sloane Square.
The building will provide 21,000 sq ft (1,942 sq) of retail on basement, ground and first floor levels, with another 7,080 sq ft (658 sq m) of mixed office/retail space on the second floor and three floors of offices above. Construction is expected to begin in 2005.
