Frasers Group has purchased two designer outlets in York and the East Midlands, which the retail giant claims takes its share of the total UK outlet market to over one-fifth.
The Sports Direct and Flannels owner said the acquisitions, which together see an annual footfall of 7.8 million visitors, demonstrate its continued commitment to the outlet sector.
Spanning 250,000 sq ft, York Designer Outlet welcomes 4.3 million visitors annually and is home to 120 British and international brands.
East Midlands Designer Outlet offers 65 brands across 170,000 sq ft and draws in around 3.5 million shoppers annually.
Frasers reported the acquisitions show the group’s support for global brands’ strategies while delivering strong value and brand choice to UK consumers.
The group’s chief executive Michael Murray added: “These strategic acquisitions reinforce our vision, leveraging strong partnerships with leading global brands to unlock mutual value – supporting their outlet strategies while driving growth.
“Today, we own over one-fifth of the UK outlet market and have a clear ambition to grow our share further.”
