Badenoch vows to lower retail costs but rules out business rates cuts

Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has told Retail Week she would lower costs for retailers to support job creation if she were to win the next election, but ruled out widespread business rates reform.

“Unemployment is increasing. If people are losing their jobs, they’re going to go on welfare. It’s just going to be harder for us to fix the economy,” she added.
