Wickes described the quarter as ‘another strong period’

The home and DIY retailer saw overall group revenue increase 6.9% year on year to £420.1m in the 13 weeks to September 27.

Retail sales saw a year-on-year revenue growth of 6.7% to £312.5m, while design and installation increased by 7.8% to £107.6m. Click-and-collect sales grew 18% annually.

Volume increases and stable pricing were credited for the revenue rise, as Wickes said it “successfully fulfilled strong customer demand across all fulfilment channels”.

The TradePro channel saw sales rise 8%, and active members reached 632,000 nationwide. DIY sales saw mid-single digit growth.

Wickes plans to open a total of five stores in the current financial year, and it will invest more in software-as-a-service (SaaS) technology and is aiming for profitable growth in the next two years.

The retailer is “comfortable” with current expectations for its adjusted profit-before-tax in 2025 as it continues to invest in growth levers and digital initiatives.

Wickes chief executive David Wood said: “This has been another strong period for Wickes, with sales driven by an increase in volumes.

“Within retail, our continued outperformance has seen us take further market share. In design and installation, the changes made to our offer are showing through in increased demand and ongoing momentum.

“Looking ahead, we remain well-placed for the full year as we continue to support our customers across all their home improvement projects.”
