B&Q has ended 30-year-long logistics partnership with PJH Group and has appointed GXO to manage its newly acquired distribution site, Retail Week can reveal.
The homewares giant has announced the acquisition of a new 375,000 sq ft distribution site at Park Farm, Wellingborough, as part of major changes to its bathrooms fulfilment services, and confirmed that it will be parting company with its logistics partner of more than three decades in a major shakeup of its logistics network.
GXO Logistics has won the contract to manage the new site, which will allow the retailer to bring its bathrooms category sourcing inhouse from the second half of next year.
It will also allow the retailer to integrate customer order management within its existing resource and move the category’s warehousing to the newly acquired distribution site.
This, in turn, will allow B&Q to utilise existing delivery operations for customer homes and stores.
The retailer said it would still continue to work with PJH as a supplier.
B&Q supply and logistics director Amelie Gallichan-Todd said: “With a focus on improving customer experience, we are evolving our business at pace and regaining market share. We have reimagined our operations—seamlessly integrating our stores, apps, and online platforms—to provide home improvers with greater choice, faster service, and enhanced convenience.
“Changing how we manage our Bathrooms fulfilment service during the second half of 2026 will be another step forward in our evolution. It will help us to simplify processes, to manage costs responsibly - leveraging our in-house sourcing, logistics and merchandising expertise, and to prioritise investment in meeting changing customer needs.
“Our new distribution site is well located and suited for the distribution needs of our Bathrooms category, and I’m pleased to announce that we’ve selected GXO Logistics to manage this new site, following a competitive tender.
“The decision to make these major changes to our bathrooms fulfilment services has not been made lightly. This is a strategic move and it in no way reflects the quality of the service provided by PJH Group Limited for the last 30 years, and I’d like to thank the PJH team for their continuing commitment and dedication to our customers.”
