Lush has launched two new retail formats in Paris and Florence, reiterating its commitment to “ongoing investment in game-changing store concepts”.

The ethical beauty retailer has launched a Fresh & Flowers store in Paris, which will stock freshly made face, body and hair products without preservatives, with some products prepared on-demand in-store.

Following the permanent florists in Lush’s Liverpool and Tokyo flagships, the retailer will also have a florist in its new Paris branch including products that will be infused with flowers stocked in-store.

The beauty retailer will also stock its largest collection of Lush fragrances in its new Florence store, called The Perfume Library. The branch will sell more than 70 fragrances.

The retailer has also opened its second-largest European flagship in Munich, which spans 8,400 sq ft over three floors. As well as selling products across Lush’s range, the store boasts a florist, perfume library, fair-trade coffee kiosk and activist community space.

Lush co-founder and managing director Mark Constantine said: “When I was first thinking about starting a new company, I came to Munich and visited all of the supermarkets and organic food shops and saw their attitudes towards packaging. I wanted Lush to be a European brand and I took a lot of inspiration from Munich. Opening this shop feels a little like coming home.”

Global property director Paul Wheatley added: “At a time when physical retail is coming under huge economic pressure, we are committed to ongoing investment in game-changing store concepts on the world’s high streets and malls, unrestricted by geographic borders, providing innovation and new customer experiences as suitable opportunities arise.”
