Health and beauty retailers are adding a personal touch to pampering this Christmas. Here’s a whiff of Amazon and The Body Shop’s offers.

For health and beauty retailers this year, perfume took a back seat to the rising popularity of pampering products for men and women alike. There are beard balms abound for male shoppers, while grooming gadgets such as straighteners and curling tongs are expected to sell well for female consumers.

The Body Shop is adding a touch of personalisation to its pampering this festive season, enabling shoppers to customise moisturisers with personalised body butter machines in selected stores. True to form, the ethical retailer has also launched a range of vegetarian face masks with ingredients ranging from Himalayan charcoal to Ethiopian honey.

Amazon is expecting men’s grooming products to be a big hit this year and is selling a beard-care kit to appeal to well-coiffed men and their loved ones.

Notonthehighstreet is living up to its name with a selection of quirky stocking fillers, ranging from bacon soap to strawberry-and-Prosecco-flavoured lip gloss.

John Lewis is sticking with more classic health and beauty items this festive season, ranging from lip balms to hairdryers. However, in a twist on the traditional bath bomb, the department store retailer is also selling bathing flowers in the hope that its festive sales will come up roses.
