Morrisons is rolling out a one-hour delivery service on a full grocery shop for Amazon Prime shoppers in selected postcodes.
The grocerâs latest initiative with the etail giant, entitled Morrisons at Amazon, will allow Prime customers in selected postcodes across London and Hertfordshire to order products for one-hour delivery.
One-hour delivery slots wil be available to Prime shoppers for ÂŁ6.99 or two-hour delivery for free.
The supermarket giant, which reported rising like-for-likes in its third-quarter results this month, has expanded its range on Amazon across âthousands of Morrisons productsâ to enable selected shoppers to order a full grocery shop via the Prime Now mobile app.
Morrisons, which unveiled plans to install Amazon lockers across âhundredsâ of its stores in September, will fulfil grocery orders from Prime shoppers via local stores for its extended tie-up with the online retailer.
The grocer said the âcapital lightâ venture with Amazon would contribute to an incremental profit opportunity of up to ÂŁ100m.
Chief executive David Potts said: âAs food maker and shopkeeper, we have unique skills to help build a broader new Morrisons through capital light growth.
âMorrisons at Amazon is another exciting joint opportunity and makes Morrisons good quality, great value-for-money products available to even more customers.â
Amazonâs Prime Now European director Mariangela Marseglia added: âWe are delighted to welcome Morrisonsâ increased selection to the Prime Now app, enabling us to grow the selection of items available to our Prime customers for one-hour delivery.â
The etail giant offers 15,000 own-brand products for Prime Now delivery, as well as its expanded product range from Morrisons and products from John Bell & Croydon and Spirited Wines.
