Gadgetshop has revamped its brand and logo, ahead of its web site relaunch next week.

The e-tailer will introduce video clips to the site, along with a social networking area, the Gadget Academy, where people can upload their design ideas, recommend products and chat to other enthusiasts.

It will also start selling novelty consumer electronics products online including a wireless digital photo frame for Christmas.

Gadgetshop boss Stuart Grant said he hoped the new web site would differentiate the brand from its competitors, including Firebox.com and Iwantoneofthose.com.

He added that sales were booming across the group. For the year ending December 31, Grant forecast that sales at Gadgetshop.com will double and he said he expects sales to grow by between 50 and 60 per cent next year.

Toy retailer The Entertainer, its parent, forecast that sales will grow by 300 per cent this year.

However, Grant said that strong online sales had convinced him to put on hold plans to launch the Gadgetshop back on to the high street.

“The high street is really tough, but we are considering a few opportunities for The Entertainer next year,” said Grant.

Gadgetshop’s web site fulfilment has been outsourced to I-Force.
