Suzy Slavid, who was previously a merchandise manager at the brand, rejoins following the news that former CEO Ben Lewis has retaken the reigns at the fashion brand.
She joins after a two-year stint as chief executive at womenswear brand Wyse London. Slavid also formerly worked as chief trading officer at Boden, according to her LinkedIn page.
Former executive chair Richard Bradbury announced last week that he was stepping down due to “personal circumstances,” the brand said in a statement. Clive Lewis, meanwhile, resumed his role as non-executive chair.
Ben Lewis was the chief executive for almost a decade up until 2019.
The leadership changes come after reports that River Island has brought in consultants from Alix Partners to work on a “cost reduction and profit improvement exercise”.
